A new blog

Welcome to my new blog, which will specifically relate to my food-and-spirituality interests.

To kick things off, I'm posting this story from yesterday's NY Times:
Eating Food That's Better for You, Organic or Not

It's Mark Bittman (one of my personal foodie heroes - without his books, I wouldn't have had the courage or the knowledge to really start cooking) discussing the popularity, myths, and ethics of organic food.

Having recently noticed organic Cheetos in the market (with organic flavoring!), I have to agree with his assessment that the primary way to improve your eating habits - and the earth's lot - isn't only to switch to an all-organic diet; it's not even primarily so. But read Bittman - he says it all very nicely.
