For those of you - if there is anybody - still reading this blog and hoping it will become something one day, I have good news: I fully intend to start actually writing my own thoughts (instead of just linking) and hopefully use this as the testing ground for the book I want to write about the spirituality of food.
So be patient just a little longer, and you'll start seeing much more here, and hopefully it will be more interesting. Then I'd like to start hearing feedback so I can get serious about putting together a proposable manuscript. I think the time is perfect for a book of this nature, I just have to get writing on it!
For now, which do you think is more interesting/marketable/needed: a book about how spirituality and food are interrelated that's for a more mass audience, or a book specifically aimed at the Christian book market (mostly Evangelicals) that condenses all the stuff from the many foodie books (Omnivore's, FF Nation, Animal-Veg-Miracle) into an easy-to-digest volume with proof-texts for why it's relevant to the audience?
I'm leaning towards the latter, though it's not as fun, but I think it has more potential to be published. Then I could work on the larger tome.

Agree, the second one.
ReplyDeleteYou should, when you start writing, throw some comment over at Jill Richardson's La Vida Locavore blog, (she's into sustainable agriculture and improving our food choices, and she's really cool, she just wrote her first book) I'd bet they would like your perspective and it may lead readers back here.
