After the Game, Sharing the Leftovers

A lovely article highlighting the good work of an organization that rescues stadium food from the landfill and sees that it gets to those in need.

After the fans clear out of Yankee Stadium, leftover hot dogs, hamburgers and pizza are sent to pantries, food banks and soup kitchens.

I especially love the comments from Thomas, the former drug addict who finds meaning in his work bringing food to others. Sounds awfully familiar...“People ask me, ‘Why do you do this?’ and I say, ‘I was homeless, I feel like it’s me I’m helping feed.’ ”

Now, how do I get on the list of those who get the rock bands' catering refuse?
